Perth in the media
As Diner en Blanc prepares to celebrate its 10th annual soiree in Perth on Saturday, local organisers have reflected on the event’s short but colourful history while lauding the west coast affair as the global “standout”.
For those unfamiliar, the French-founded celebration is one shrouded in mystery until the very last moment — with revellers draped in all-white and dropped at a secret party location unveiled only upon arrival.
Diner en Blanc’s local journey began in 2016 when hundreds of guests were welcomed to a self-catered riverside picnic at Elizabeth Quay.
Taking the reins as host in 2017 was Atelier Events director Caroline James, who spoke glowingly of her experience at the helm alongside her husband Rob James and sister Sarah Marshall.
“From the outset, Perth really embraced the global phenomenon of Dîner en Blanc – it was incredible to see our city join what was then a network of more than 200 events around the world,” Ms James told PerthNow.
